The Good Stuff
The Vietnamese Friendship Association is an organization that works with refugee and immigrant communities experiencing educational inequities. Its vision is that these communities are thriving, self-sufficient and have achieved collective and individual success.
VFA was born in the 1970s in the wake of the war in Vietnam. From its inception, VFA centered on the notion of friendship and worked to build community and respond to short-term resettlement needs facing Vietnamese refugees in Seattle. As the Vietnamese community grew, so did VFA. Today, VFA reflects on its roots and looks towards the future by drawing on their experiences to whole-heartedly serve the immigrant and refugee community who continue to bring new waves of hope and resilience.
